Wellness Spotlight
August 2026

Stay on top of your health. Taking care of your health doesn’t have to be complicated. A few simple, proactive habits can help prevent problems and catch potential issues early. Start with these basics:
  • Annual Checkups. See your doctor at least once a year to discuss your overall health, address any concerns, and stay on track with recommended preventive care.
  • Routine Screenings. Screenings can help detect cancer and other health conditions early, when they may be easier to treat.
  • Lab Work. Complete recommended blood work and other tests to monitor your health and identify potential concerns before symptoms develop.
  • Dental & Vision Exams. Keep up with annual dental cleanings, oral health exams, and vision checks to protect your overall health and catch problems early.
Preventive care is personal and what you need may vary based on your age, health, and risk factors. Talk to your doctor about what’s right for you.

This Month’s Well-Being Tips & Events
How Service Builds Purpose

By giving back to others, you can discover your true purpose and feel a sense of belonging to a community that is important to you. Donating to a cause, volunteering your time, or supporting a local event can encourage a chain reaction of kindness and generosity.
  • A clearer sense of meaning: When you contribute time, energy, or talent, you shift your focus from "What do I need?" to "How can I help?"
  • Better mental & emotional well-being: Kindness releases feel-good chemicals that help you feel happier, less lonely and more optimistic.
  • Stronger community connections: Participating in local initiatives builds relationships and trust and connects you with others who share your values.
  • Skills & confidence: Volunteering improves your communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, as well as boosting your confidence.
Did you know? The benefit of getting kids involved in volunteering is that they can try new things, understand other people's needs, and see that their actions make a real difference
