Wellness Spotlight
July 2026July is UV Safety Month. Being outdoors is good for your physical and mental well-being, but too much exposure to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays can have lasting effects on your skin and eyes. You can lower your risk while enjoying the outdoors by taking a few simple, consistent steps.
- Check the UV Index: Use the EPA UV Index to monitor daily UV levels in your area.
- Apply Sunscreen: Use a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. It’s best to apply at least 20 mins before heading out and reapply every two hours.
- Wear Protective Gear: Tightly woven clothing, heavy and dark fabrics, wide-brimmed hats, and polarized sunglasses can block the sun's ultraviolet rays while ensuring all-day comfort.
- Seek Shade: Avoid direct sunlight during 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. when UV rays are strongest.

This Month’s Well-Being Tips & Events
Silence Your Inner CriticDid you know imposter syndrome can affect anyone, at any stage? About 62% of people experience it.
Imposter syndrome is persistent self-doubt and fear of being exposed as a "fraud," despite clear evidence of your hard work and accomplishments. It can feel like a quiet voice that tells you don't belong, doubts your readiness, or limits your growth and well-being.
Small shifts in thinking can quiet the inner critic and help you show up with confidence.
- Name It: Recognize these thoughts as common and temporary.
- Challenge It: Replace self-criticism with realistic, compassionate self-talk.
- Track Wins: Keep a simple list of accomplishments, skills and positive feedback.
- Connect: Talk with trusted colleagues or mentors for perspective. Start by treating yourself with the same compassion you'd offer a friend.
