Who Is Eligible?
Full-time and part-time U.S. employees working at least 20 hours per week are eligible for benefits.In addition to enrolling yourself, you may also enroll your eligible dependents for medical, vision, dental, and/or supplemental insurance benefits.
- Spouse: a person to whom you are legally married
- Child(ren): Your biological, adopted, or legal dependents up to age 26 regardless of student, financial, and marital status

Below is an overview of the benefits offered to eligible U.S. employees.- Werfen’s U.S. benefits plan year starts on January 1st and ends on December 31st.
- For new hires, most benefits will become effective on your date of hire.
- Benefit elections cannot be changed until the next Open Enrollment period unless a qualifying life event impacts your eligibility mid-year.

Health Savings Account (HSA)
A Health Savings Account (HSA) lets you save pre-tax dollars to cover eligible out-of-pocket costs (copays, deductibles, coinsurance, medical/dental/vision services and supplies).
Enrolled in the HDHP – High or HDHP – Low medical plan?
Open an HSA at any time, set up pre-tax deductions and make changes at any time.
Use your HSA funds immediately or save and invest for future health care expenses.
Werfen will also make a Company-paid HSA contribution per paycheck based on your elected medical coverage level as follows:
- Employee Only: $500 per year
- Employee + Family: $1,000 per year
HSA funds do not expire and yours to keep if you leave, resign, or retire.
2026 HSA Contribution Limits*
- Employee Only: $4,400
- Employee + Family: $8,750
- If you're age 55+, you may contribute an additional $1,000.
* The annual limits include Company-paid HSA contributions.

No matter which Werfen medical plan you enroll in (or if you waive medical coverage), the Dependent Care FSA is available to you.

- You can rollover up to $680 of Health Care or Limited Purpose FSA funds to the next plan year. Any remaining funds over that limit will be forfeited on December 31.
- Any remaining funds in your Dependent Care FSA will be forfeited on December 31.

- Job-related courses that are not part of a degree program.

What is a Qualifying Life Event?
Benefit elections cannot be changed until the next U.S. Open Enrollment period, unless a qualifying mid-year life event affects your eligibility and the plan permits change
Eligible qualifying life events include:
- Marriage
- Divorce or legal separation
- Birth/adoption of a child
- Gain or loss of spouse’s coverage
- Change in employment (or employment status) for you, your spouse, or a dependent child
- Death of a dependent (spouse or child)
This would also be an ideal time to check your beneficiaries and update them if needed.
